In 2026, Shopify merchants choosing between Rakuten Ichiba (JP) and Reputon eBay Importer face a clear decision. Rakuten Ichiba (JP), aimed at potentially selling on or integrating with the Rakuten Ichiba marketplace in Japan, suffers from very low user satisfaction, evidenced by its 1.5/5 rating and only 7 reviews. Reputon eBay Importer, on the other hand, focuses on simplifying the process of importing products from eBay, boasting a perfect 5/5 rating based on a significantly larger sample of 37 reviews. Reputon eBay Importer targets dropshippers and affiliate stores seeking to quickly populate their Shopify stores with eBay listings. Its strength lies in features like price and stock auto-sync, bulk import capabilities, and the ability to import products with variants and photos. While Rakuten Ichiba (JP)'s functionality remains unclear due to the lack of positive reviews and feature details, Reputon eBay Importer demonstrably offers tangible benefits for merchants leveraging eBay as a product source. The limited access to protected customer data for updating product availability during checkout suggests some level of integration and automation beyond simple product listing.

Our Verdict
For most Shopify merchants in 2026, Reputon eBay Importer is the significantly better choice. Its high rating, positive reviews, and clear functionality make it a reliable tool for those sourcing products from eBay. Unless a merchant specifically needs to integrate with the Rakuten Ichiba marketplace and can find more information about the app's current capabilities, the risk associated with the poorly-rated Rakuten Ichiba (JP) app is too high.
Reputon eBay Importer's features like automatic price and stock synchronization are particularly valuable for maintaining accurate inventory and pricing, crucial for both dropshippers and affiliate marketers. If automating product sourcing from eBay is a priority, Reputon eBay Importer is the clear winner. Rakuten Ichiba (JP), as it stands, is not recommended without further evidence of improved performance and clearer documentation.
