Redeemly Store Credit Cashback vs Restrict / Disable Gift Cardsfor Shopify (2026)
Redeemly Store Credit Cashback and Restrict / Disable Gift Cards both fall under the 'Payment options - Other' category in the Shopify app store, but they address vastly different merchant needs. Redeemly focuses on building customer loyalty through a cashback program in the form of store credit, encouraging repeat purchases and boosting customer lifetime value. Its primary strength lies in its potential to increase sales and customer retention via rewarding purchases with store credit. Its target audience is merchants aiming to improve customer loyalty and incentivize future purchases. Restrict / Disable Gift Cards, on the other hand, focuses on preventing potential losses and maintaining fair order policies by controlling how gift cards are used. It allows merchants to disable or restrict the use of gift cards in conjunction with discount codes or based on geographical location, ensuring profitability. The app's strength lies in its ability to enforce rules and prevent fraudulent or unprofitable gift card use. Its target audience is likely merchants who have experienced losses due to combined gift card and discount usage or who operate in regions where gift card fraud is prevalent. Given the significantly different functionality and the large discrepancy in the number of reviews (45 vs 1), the risk of testing Redeemly is considerably lower.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on driving customer loyalty and increasing repeat purchases, Redeemly Store Credit Cashback is the more appropriate choice. Its focus on rewarding customers with store credit aligns with the goal of fostering long-term customer relationships and driving sales. The app's higher number of reviews also suggests a more established user base and potentially greater reliability.
However, merchants experiencing issues with gift card fraud, combined gift card/discount usage, or needing geographic restrictions on gift card usage should strongly consider Restrict / Disable Gift Cards. Its specific features address these challenges directly, providing a tool to safeguard revenue and maintain fair order policies. Although it only has one review, its highly focused functionality may make it a valuable tool for merchants facing specific gift card-related problems. Merchants should proceed cautiously and test thoroughly given the low number of reviews.
