Returns Plus ‑ Australia Post vs ReturnZap Returns & Exchangesfor Shopify (2026)
Returns Plus ‑ Australia Post and ReturnZap Returns & Exchanges both aim to streamline the returns process for Shopify merchants. Returns Plus ‑ Australia Post positions itself as a solution tightly integrated with the Australia Post network, catering to merchants who already have an Australia Post parcel contract and high return volumes (over 5,000 parcels p/a). Its strength lies in leveraging Australia Post's infrastructure for printer-less returns and drop-off points. ReturnZap, on the other hand, is an all-in-one solution offering advanced exchange options, store credit functionalities, and automated return labels from various carriers worldwide. It targets a broader audience, focusing on reducing refunds and providing a branded, self-serve returns portal. The key difference lies in their geographic scope and integration level. Returns Plus ‑ Australia Post is very specific to the Australian market and deeply connected to Australia Post's services, making it ideal for merchants who rely heavily on this carrier. ReturnZap offers wider carrier support and is not tied to a single postal service, appealing to merchants with international customers or those using multiple carriers. ReturnZap also boasts more advanced features like the reduction of refunds through optimized exchange methods. The apps also vary in ease of setup. Returns Plus ‑ Australia Post requires an existing Australia Post contract, adding a barrier, whereas ReturnZap advertises easy and fast setup.

Our Verdict
ReturnZap Returns & Exchanges appears to be the better choice for most Shopify merchants due to its higher rating, positive reviews, wider carrier support, and focus on reducing refunds through advanced exchange options. Its broad feature set and ease of setup make it a more accessible and versatile solution.
However, Returns Plus ‑ Australia Post could be a viable option for Australian merchants who already have an Australia Post parcel contract and process a large volume of returns (over 5,000 p/a) specifically through Australia Post. The deep integration with Australia Post’s network might offer specific benefits for this niche, despite the current low rating and limited reviews.
