SC Back in Stock Restock Alert vs SMSGo: Abandoned Cart Recoveryfor Shopify (2026)
SC Back in Stock Restock Alert and SMSGo: Abandoned Cart Recovery, while both leveraging SMS marketing, target distinct needs. SC Back in Stock primarily focuses on recovering sales lost due to out-of-stock items. It achieves this through back-in-stock alerts, restock notifications, and "Notify Me" widgets that capture customer interest. Its strength lies in demand generation and retargeting for products that are temporarily unavailable. The app's target audience includes merchants who frequently experience stockouts and want to capture potential sales through waitlists and notifications. SMSGo: Abandoned Cart Recovery, on the other hand, is a comprehensive SMS marketing tool centering on cart recovery. Its primary function is to retrieve abandoned carts by sending timely SMS alerts with incentives like discount codes. SMSGo offers broader functionality, including post-purchase upsell flows, customer winback campaigns, and 1:1 customer communication. This app is geared towards merchants seeking a more complete SMS marketing solution to address cart abandonment, engage with customers, and drive repeat purchases.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with recovering sales lost due to products being out of stock, SC Back in Stock Restock Alert is the more suitable option. Its focus on restock notifications and waitlists directly addresses this need. It is also a better choice if you are starting out and just need a simple set-and-forget app. However, if the merchant needs a broader SMS marketing solution that includes cart recovery, customer winback, upsell flows, and more general customer communication via SMS, SMSGo: Abandoned Cart Recovery offers a more comprehensive suite of features. The higher rating of SMSGo and its abandoned cart focus suggests that it offers a more effective SMS marketing solution in general.
