SC Product Options vs Smart Size Chart & Size Guidefor Shopify (2026)
SC Product Options and Smart Size Chart & Size Guide, while both listed under 'Custom products' and 'Product variants' categories on Shopify, address vastly different needs. SC Product Options focuses on *intrinsic* product customization, enabling merchants to offer customers personalized variations like adding text, uploading files, or selecting from diverse options with swatches. It's targeted towards merchants selling products where personalization directly impacts the final product itself (e.g., customized t-shirts, engraved jewelry). Smart Size Chart & Size Guide, conversely, tackles *extrinsic* customization by providing tools to help customers choose the right size, impacting purchase confidence but not altering the product's inherent design. Smart Size Chart & Size Guide concentrates on alleviating sizing uncertainty, a key barrier for online apparel and accessories sales. It offers customizable size charts tailored to different product types and brands, aiming to reduce returns and improve customer satisfaction. While both apps aim to boost sales, SC Product Options directly increases Average Order Value (AOV) through upselling custom products, while Smart Size Chart & Size Guide indirectly increases sales by reducing sizing-related purchase hesitation and return rates.

Our Verdict
The choice between SC Product Options and Smart Size Chart & Size Guide hinges entirely on the product types a merchant sells. If a store offers personalized products requiring customer input (text, images, variations beyond standard sizes), SC Product Options is the superior choice. Its focus on customizable product options and conditional logic directly addresses the needs of businesses offering bespoke items.
However, for merchants selling apparel, shoes, jewelry, or other items where sizing is critical, Smart Size Chart & Size Guide is the more appropriate solution. While its review count is lower, the perfect rating indicates a high level of satisfaction among its user base. Its focus on reducing returns and providing stylish, brand-consistent size charts directly addresses the unique challenges of these product categories. In scenarios where both product customization AND sizing guidance are needed, merchants might consider using *both* apps if their budgets allow or seek an all-in-one solution if available in 2026.
