Our Verdict
If you run a general Shopify store and want to improve product discovery by making browsing easier, Scrollio: Infinite Scroll is the better choice. Its core functionality of continuous scrolling simplifies the user experience, encouraging shoppers to browse longer. However, for fashion or apparel merchants where displaying size availability is critical, Size Swatch is the superior option. Its ability to visually present size options and stock levels directly on product listings addresses a specific need in the fashion industry, directly impacting conversion rates and customer satisfaction related to finding the right size.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to install?
Both apps claim ease of use. Scrollio states 'simple install and setup,' while Size Swatch touts 'automatic installation for all Shopify built themes.' Size Swatch might have a slight edge for merchants using standard Shopify themes.
Can both apps be used together on the same store?
Yes, theoretically. Scrollio handles the navigation experience by improving browsing capabilities, while Size Swatch improves the selection experience by showing the inventory status for each size. However, ensuring compatibility and avoiding any visual conflicts would require testing.
Which app offers more customization options?
Size Swatch appears to offer more fine-grained customization specifically related to visual appearance. Merchants can customize the shape, size, color, and out-of-stock styles of the swatches, whereas Scrollio's customization is limited to the 'Load More' button and animation.
Which app is better for mobile users?
Both apps could benefit mobile users. Infinite scrolling from Scrollio reduces the need for pagination on smaller screens, while Size Swatch provides immediate size availability, preventing mobile users from navigating multiple pages to find their size.
Which app is more likely to increase sales?
It depends on the type of store. For fashion stores, Size Swatch is more likely to increase sales by directly addressing a key barrier to purchase (size availability). Scrollio, while improving the browsing experience, has a less direct impact on conversion but can improve overall engagement and product discovery.
