Our Verdict
For merchants selling automotive parts, accessories, or any product where 'Year Make Model' fitment is a primary concern, Year Make Model ‑ EasySearch is the clear choice. Its specialized features like the fitment widget, YMM database, and 'My Garage' provide targeted value. Visely, on the other hand, is better suited for general e-commerce stores seeking a comprehensive solution to improve search functionality, product discovery, and overall user engagement across a broader range of product categories. If your inventory does not rely on year, make and model as primary search filters, Visely offers a more generalized solution.
Common Questions
Which app is better for stores with large catalogs?
Both apps claim scalability. Visely highlights 'real-time catalog syncs' making it well-suited for very large and rapidly changing catalogs. EasySearch supports adding your own custom YMM records, indicating scalability for large and complex YMM datasets.
Can I use both apps together?
While technically possible, it's likely redundant and may create a confusing user experience. EasySearch's YMM filtering would overlap with Visely's filtering capabilities. Choose the one that aligns with your primary search needs.
Is Visely easy to integrate into my Shopify theme?
Visely offers a 'white-glove service' promising seamless integration using UI best practices. This suggests a more hands-on approach to ensure the app blends well with your existing store design.
Does EasySearch support non-automotive product fitment?
Yes, while it is preloaded with an automotive YMM database, EasySearch allows you to add your own YMM records, making it adaptable to other product categories where fitment based on specific attributes is important.
Which app is easier to customize?
Visely explicitly mentions customization options for international and business shoppers, implying a focus on tailoring the user experience. EasySearch focuses primarily on the YMM search experience, and does not mention broad user customization.
