Search7: Smart Search & Filter vs Year Make Model ‑ EasySearchfor Shopify (2026)
Search7: Smart Search & Filter and Year Make Model - EasySearch are both Shopify apps designed to improve search and navigation, but they cater to drastically different needs. Search7 is a general-purpose search enhancement app aiming to boost sales through improved product discovery across a variety of product types using intelligent search features like typo-tolerance, voice search, and flexible filtering. It targets merchants seeking a comprehensive search solution applicable to a wide range of products, blogs, and store pages. Year Make Model - EasySearch, on the other hand, is highly specialized, focusing exclusively on stores selling products with year, make, and model (YMM) fitment requirements, primarily auto parts, but adaptable to other areas like electronics with custom databases. The primary difference lies in their core functionality and target audience. Search7 offers a broad suite of search enhancements, including analytics and personalized onboarding, designed for general e-commerce stores. Year Make Model - EasySearch offers specialized YMM search capabilities, including a preloaded database for auto parts and features like 'My Garage' for improved customer experience within the YMM context. The 'keep filtering' functionality is specific to YMM-based searching. The large difference in the number of reviews indicates a much broader existing userbase for EasySearch, suggesting a strong demand for that app's focused functionality.
