Sezzle Widget vs Tence Add‑Onsfor Shopify (2026)
Sezzle Widget and Tence Add-Ons both fall under the 'Payments' category on Shopify, but target fundamentally different merchant needs. Sezzle Widget is specifically designed to integrate Sezzle's Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) and financing options into a store, focusing on increasing conversions and average order value through dynamic widgets. It offers easy integration and dedicated support, but its core functionality is limited to US and Canadian shoppers. Conversely, Tence Add-Ons takes a broader approach, offering a suite of features including a smart top bar, installment options, and enhanced search functionality, all packaged as a single app. It emphasizes ease of use by promising no changes to existing theme files and positions itself as a value proposition with '5 apps that load as fast as one'. The primary difference lies in their specialization. Sezzle Widget is a focused solution for merchants who want to offer Sezzle's BNPL service and target US/CA customers. Tence Add-Ons, on the other hand, is a more general-purpose app designed to enhance various aspects of a store's functionality, including but not limited to payment conditions, and aiming to improve the overall customer experience. The vastly different review counts also indicate a significant difference in adoption and potentially the amount of feedback available for merchants to review.

Our Verdict
For merchants specifically targeting customers in the US and Canada and wanting to integrate Sezzle's Buy Now Pay Later service, Sezzle Widget is the clear choice, despite its lower rating and moderate review count. The focused functionality and dedicated support make it suitable for this specific use case. However, if a merchant is looking for a broader range of enhancements to their store, including a smart top bar, better payment condition displays, and potentially improved search, Tence Add-Ons provides a more comprehensive solution. Though it only has one review, its claim of offering multiple apps in one with no theme file changes could be appealing to merchants seeking a lightweight and easy-to-implement solution. The higher rating is encouraging, but future growth in review counts will be needed to validate this difference over the long term.
Ultimately, the choice depends on the merchant's specific needs. If the primary goal is Sezzle integration for US/CA shoppers, Sezzle Widget is the better option. For a broader range of improvements, Tence Add-Ons is worth exploring, keeping in mind the limited review count.
Common Questions
Which app is better for increasing average order value?
Sezzle Widget directly targets average order value by displaying installment payment options, making higher-priced items more accessible. Tence Add-Ons might indirectly influence it through improved payment condition displays, but its primary focus is broader than just average order value.
Which app is easier to install and use?
Both apps claim ease of use. Sezzle Widget highlights easy integration from the Shopify admin. Tence Add-Ons emphasizes no theme file changes, which could simplify installation for some merchants. A true assessment would need to come from more reviews.
If I'm not in the US or Canada, can I use Sezzle Widget?
No. The Sezzle Widget is specifically designed for shoppers in the US and Canada only.
Does Tence Add-Ons only focus on payment options?
No, Tence Add-Ons offers a suite of features including a smart top bar and a fluid search function, alongside improved payment condition displays. Its scope is broader than just payments.
Which app is more reliable?
With 63 reviews, Sezzle Widget has considerably more community feedback compared to Tence Add-Ons' single review. This provides a more reliable indication of its performance and potential issues. The lack of reviews for Tence Add-Ons is risky, but doesn't mean it is necessarily unreliable. Merchants should exercise caution before trusting an app with extremely low review counts.
