Sherpas: Smart SEO vs Wave: Instagram feed & TikTokfor Shopify (2026)
Sherpas: Smart SEO and Wave: Instagram feed & TikTok are both Shopify apps targeting improving a merchant's store, but cater to entirely different needs. Sherpas focuses on enhancing a store's search engine optimization (SEO) through automated tasks and AI-powered features like meta tag generation and image optimization. It aims to improve organic traffic and sales by boosting search engine rankings. Wave, on the other hand, concentrates on leveraging social media content, specifically from Instagram and TikTok, to create shoppable galleries and build social proof on the storefront. The key difference lies in their approach: Sherpas directly tackles SEO elements to improve search engine visibility, while Wave leverages user-generated content and social media presence to enhance customer engagement and conversions. Sherpas is designed for merchants seeking to improve their organic search performance, while Wave is better suited for those wanting to integrate their social media presence directly into their Shopify store to drive sales. Both apps offer some automation, but Sherpas emphasizes automating traditionally complex SEO tasks, while Wave automates photo/video approval and gallery creation.
