Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip vs ShipRight Hide Shipping Methodfor Shopify (2026)
Shipping & Delivery - ShipZip and ShipRight Hide Shipping Method are both 5-star rated Shopify apps focused on customizing shipping rates, but they approach this goal with different focuses. ShipZip emphasizes *calculating* custom shipping rates based on a wide array of parameters, including product attributes, location, and delivery date. This makes it ideal for merchants with complex shipping needs. ShipRight Hide Shipping Method, conversely, focuses on *hiding or showing* existing shipping rates based on specific conditions like customer tags, order totals, and product collections. This is more suited for businesses offering tiered services or needing to restrict shipping options for certain customers or products. While both fall under the 'Shipping rates' category, ShipZip is about fine-grained control over rate *calculation* whereas ShipRight Hide Shipping Method excels at conditional *visibility* of pre-existing rates.

Our Verdict
If you need highly customized and precise shipping rate calculations based on many factors like product attributes, location, and delivery date (e.g., a bakery with time-sensitive deliveries or a business with varying shipping costs per product), Shipping & Delivery - ShipZip is the better choice. Its comprehensive rule-based system offers unparalleled control over shipping costs. However, if your primary goal is to manage the *visibility* of pre-defined shipping rates to different customer segments, product lines, or based on order totals (e.g., offering free shipping to VIP members or restricting shipping for specific items), then ShipRight Hide Shipping Method is the more appropriate solution.
Common Questions
Which app requires the Carrier Calculated Shipping API?
Shipping & Delivery - ShipZip explicitly states that it requires the Carrier Calculated Shipping API to send rates.
Which app is better for offering local delivery options?
Shipping & Delivery - ShipZip appears to be more comprehensive for local delivery, offering features like unlimited locations, order limit time slots, and order delivery date selection by zipcode. ShipRight Hide Shipping Method mentions postcode-based coverage, suggesting it offers local delivery functionalities, but to a lesser degree.
Can I use both apps together?
While technically possible, using both apps together might create conflicts. It's best to choose one that aligns with your primary shipping customization need (rate calculation vs. rate visibility control).
Which app is easier to set up and use?
ShipRight Hide Shipping Method potentially offers an easier setup due to its focus on conditional hiding/showing of rates. Shipping & Delivery - ShipZip, with its vast array of configuration options, may require more time and effort to configure optimally.
