Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip vs Wakilnifor Shopify (2026)
Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip and Wakilni, while both falling under the "Delivery and Pickup" category on Shopify, cater to vastly different needs. ShipZip positions itself as an advanced shipping rules engine, focusing on custom rate calculation and intricate delivery configurations. Its strength lies in its granular control over shipping rates based on factors like product attributes, customer location (zip code, distance), and order parameters. Wakilni, on the other hand, is a delivery and fulfillment service app, providing features for order placement, live tracking, and customer database management. Its strength is in managing the logistics of getting orders to customers, rather than configuring shipping rules within the Shopify store itself. ShipZip targets merchants seeking fine-grained control over shipping costs, while Wakilni is geared towards businesses needing a managed delivery solution.

Our Verdict
The choice between ShipZip and Wakilni hinges on the merchant's specific requirements. ShipZip is the superior choice for businesses seeking comprehensive control over their shipping rates and rules. Its advanced features allow for highly customized shipping scenarios, beneficial for stores with diverse product offerings and varied customer locations. However, the setup might be more complex.
Wakilni is better suited for merchants who prioritize a managed delivery solution and are less concerned with granular shipping rate control. If a business lacks the resources or expertise to handle its own delivery logistics, Wakilni provides a viable outsourcing option. The low number of reviews, however, warrants further investigation of its reliability and customer satisfaction before making a decision.
Common Questions
Does ShipZip handle the actual delivery of orders?
No, ShipZip focuses on calculating shipping rates and setting delivery rules. It integrates with carrier calculated shipping API to send rates, but it does not provide delivery services itself. You would still need to use a shipping carrier or your own delivery fleet.
Does Wakilni allow for custom shipping rates based on product attributes?
The description for Wakilni does not mention custom shipping rate calculation based on product attributes. Its focus is on managing the delivery process itself, suggesting that shipping rates might be pre-determined or based on simpler factors like distance or weight.
Is ShipZip suitable for a small business with simple shipping needs?
ShipZip might be overkill for a small business with very simple shipping needs. Its advanced features are designed for more complex scenarios. A simpler shipping rate app or Shopify's built-in shipping settings might be more appropriate in that case.
What kind of reports does Wakilni offer?
Wakilni offers reports on delivery times and customer satisfaction. The description also mentions maintaining a customer database and visiting order history, implying further reporting capabilities around order frequency and customer behavior.
What API does ShipZip use to get rates?
The description explicitly states that ShipZip requires the Carrier Calculated Shipping API to send rates. This implies that the rates generated by ShipZip are then passed on to the customer through Shopify's checkout process via this API.
