Shopchat: AI Search Assistant vs Wizzy AI Search & Filterfor Shopify (2026)
Shopchat: AI Search Assistant and Wizzy AI Search & Filter both aim to improve product discovery on Shopify stores in 2026, but they approach the problem from different angles. Shopchat focuses on leveraging a conversational AI (ChatGPT 4) to directly answer customer questions and proactively recommend products, aiming for a highly personalized and interactive shopping experience. This positions it as a virtual shopping assistant designed to drive sales through direct engagement. Wizzy AI Search & Filter, on the other hand, concentrates on enhancing the core search and filtering functionalities of a Shopify store. It provides advanced search capabilities powered by AI, including intelligent suggestions, spell check, and synonym recognition, coupled with dynamic filtering options based on various product attributes. This approach targets merchants looking to optimize their search experience and guide customers toward relevant products through refined search and navigation. The lack of reviews for Shopchat should be considered before committing.

Our Verdict
Choosing between Shopchat and Wizzy depends heavily on a merchant's priorities. If a store owner believes direct customer interaction through an AI assistant will significantly boost sales, and they're willing to take a risk on an unproven app, Shopchat might be worth exploring. However, the complete lack of reviews presents a significant risk.
For merchants prioritizing robust search and filtering capabilities, especially those with extensive product catalogs and complex product attributes, Wizzy AI Search & Filter appears to be the safer and more reliable option, given its high rating and established user base. Wizzy focuses on improving product discovery through enhanced search and filtering, whereas Shopchat aims to create a boutique shopping experience through a conversational AI. Therefore, for merchants seeking a well-vetted, conversion-focused search solution, Wizzy is the clear recommendation.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Shopchat claims no technical skills are required, suggesting an easier initial setup. Wizzy implies ease of use through its claim of not hampering page insights score, but doesn't explicitly state setup difficulty. Lacking user reviews for Shopchat, it's difficult to verify this claim.
Which app is better for a store with a small product catalog?
Wizzy AI Search & Filter might be overkill for a small catalog. Shopchat's AI-powered recommendation engine, aiming to create a more personalized experience, could be more beneficial for guiding customers through a smaller selection.
Which app provides better customer support?
Shopchat highlights 'excellent support directly by the devs,' which could be an advantage if the developers are responsive and knowledgeable. Wizzy doesn't explicitly mention its support structure, so it's difficult to compare without further information.
Which app is better for a store targeting multilingual customers?
Neither app explicitly mentions multilingual support in their descriptions. Further research would be needed to determine their capabilities in this area.
Which app has a greater risk of becoming unsupported over time?
Shopchat carries a higher risk due to the lack of ratings and reviews. A higher number of reviews, as Wizzy possesses, often correlates with app health and updates.
