Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro vs VerifyID ‑ Age Verificationfor Shopify (2026)
Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro and VerifyID ‑ Age Verification are both Shopify apps in the Legal category, but they address very different compliance needs. Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro focuses on capturing general legal consent (T&Cs, privacy policies, age verification) through simple checkboxes or popups, offering broad functionality applicable to many stores. VerifyID ‑ Age Verification, on the other hand, is a specialized app designed to meet the stringent age verification requirements for stores selling age-restricted products in Denmark and Sweden, using MitID or BankID for reliable verification. The key distinction lies in their target audience and compliance focus. Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro aims for general legal compliance and consent management, appealing to a wide range of merchants looking to minimize risk. VerifyID ‑ Age Verification specifically targets stores operating in Denmark and Sweden that are legally obligated to use government-backed eID solutions for age verification. This makes it a more niche application, but essential for merchants in those specific jurisdictions and selling controlled products.

Our Verdict
Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro is the clear choice for most Shopify merchants needing to implement basic terms and conditions acceptance, age verification disclaimers, and privacy policy agreements. Its flexible setup options and broad applicability make it a suitable option for a wide range of online stores. The lack of reviews for VerifyID ‑ Age Verification, coupled with its highly specific geographical and legal focus, suggests that its application is much narrower.
However, if you operate a Shopify store in Denmark or Sweden selling products with age restrictions (e.g., alcohol, tobacco), VerifyID ‑ Age Verification is essential. Its integration with MitID or BankID ensures compliance with local laws, preventing sales to underage customers. For merchants outside this specific context, Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro provides sufficient functionality.
