Ting ‑ Slack Notifications vs WhatsApp Re‑engagefor Shopify (2026)
Ting ‑ Slack Notifications and WhatsApp Re‑engage both aim to improve communication around order events, but they target fundamentally different communication channels. Ting focuses on internal team communication within Slack, providing order notifications and reports directly to staff. WhatsApp Re‑engage, on the other hand, concentrates on external customer communication via WhatsApp, focusing on order updates and abandoned cart recovery. The core difference lies in *who* receives the notifications: Ting is for internal teams, while WhatsApp Re-engage is for customer engagement. While both fall under the 'Staff notifications' category in Shopify, their applications are quite distinct. This divergence dictates which app is most suitable for a given merchant's needs.

Our Verdict
Ting ‑ Slack Notifications is best suited for merchants prioritizing internal team communication and wanting to keep their staff informed about order activity and store performance within their existing Slack workspace. The positive user reviews (albeit a small sample size) suggest satisfaction with its ease of use and functionality. WhatsApp Re‑engage is better for merchants focused on direct customer engagement, particularly those aiming to reduce abandoned carts and provide personalized order updates via WhatsApp. However, the lack of reviews and the reliance on WhatsApp's API suggest a higher barrier to entry and potential uncertainty regarding its effectiveness. If internal team communication is paramount, Ting is the clear choice; if customer engagement is the priority, WhatsApp Re-engage may be worth exploring, but with caution due to the lack of social proof.
