XO Insert Code vs XO Tunnel ‑ Notion syncfor Shopify (2026)
XO Insert Code and XO Tunnel - Notion sync, while both categorized under 'Content' and 'Storefronts - Other' on Shopify, cater to drastically different needs. XO Insert Code focuses on providing merchants with a simple way to inject custom code snippets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid) into their Shopify store's header, footer, or specific pages. This is aimed at merchants who need to add custom functionalities, integrate third-party services like Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel, or apply custom styling beyond the theme's capabilities. The app boasts a high number of reviews, indicating a broader adoption and longer track record. The primary value proposition centers on giving control and customization without requiring deep coding skills. XO Tunnel - Notion sync, on the other hand, targets merchants who rely on Notion for content creation and management. It offers seamless synchronization between a Notion workspace and the Shopify store, enabling merchants to build and manage blog posts, pages, and product content within Notion. This is particularly beneficial for merchants who prefer Notion's collaborative and organized environment for content creation and want to avoid directly managing content within the Shopify admin. While also holding a perfect rating, its extremely low number of reviews suggests it’s a newer app or caters to a very niche market. This app emphasizes streamlining content workflows and leveraging Notion's capabilities for content management.

Our Verdict
The choice between XO Insert Code and XO Tunnel - Notion sync depends entirely on the merchant's needs. If a merchant requires precise control over their store's functionality and styling through custom code snippets, especially for adding tracking pixels or custom scripts, XO Insert Code is the superior choice. Its established user base and focus on ease of use for code injection make it a reliable option.
Conversely, if a merchant extensively uses Notion for content creation and desires a streamlined workflow to publish content directly from Notion to their Shopify store, XO Tunnel - Notion sync is the preferred solution. This eliminates the need to copy and paste content between platforms and keeps all content within Notion. Given the lack of reviews, it may be a riskier choice and it would be wise to closely evaluate the app. For code injection and integration, XO Insert Code is the clear choice; for Notion-based content management, XO Tunnel is designed to suit that very specific workflow.
