Our Verdict
Essential Free Shipping Upsell is likely the better choice for most merchants due to its strong social proof (high review count) and clear, revenue-focused strategy. The progress bar mechanic is well-understood and easy to implement. AppHero, while offering a potentially powerful strategy with free gifts, suffers from a lack of reviews, making it a riskier option. However, if a merchant has a clear understanding of their customer base and products that would function well as free gifts, and is willing to experiment, AppHero could be a worthwhile endeavor.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps claim to be simple to set up. However, Essential Free Shipping Upsell likely has a slightly lower barrier to entry since it focuses on a single, readily understandable feature: the free shipping progress bar. AppHero's setup requires deciding on appropriate gift conditions and managing inventory/selection of free gifts, adding a layer of complexity.
Which app offers better reporting?
Essential Free Shipping Upsell specifically highlights its revenue-oriented tracking. AppHero doesn't directly mention reporting, suggesting Essential Free Shipping Upsell provides more insights into the effectiveness of its features.
Which app provides more flexibility in incentivizing customers?
AppHero likely offers more flexibility in terms of *what* motivates customers. It can leverage a wider variety of free gift promotions. Essential Free Shipping Upsell is limited to the free shipping incentive, but offers flexibility in setting the target amount and adding upsell options.
Which app relies more on pre-existing customer behavior?
Essential Free Shipping Upsell leverages the already prevalent desire for free shipping, making it highly effective. AppHero needs to build customer awareness and desirability for the specific free gift offered.
If I already offer free shipping, which app is better?
If you already offer free shipping, AppHero is the better choice because Essential Free Shipping Upsell would be redundant. AppHero offers different methods of motivating customers, outside of free shipping.
