Blog Filter & Search PRO vs Year Make Model ‑ EasySearchfor Shopify (2026)
Blog Filter & Search PRO and Year Make Model ‑ EasySearch, while both falling under the 'Search and Navigation' and 'Search and Filters' categories on the Shopify App Store, cater to drastically different needs. Blog Filter & Search PRO, judging by its name, likely targets merchants with extensive blog content needing enhanced search capabilities. It aims to improve content discoverability within a blog-heavy environment. Year Make Model ‑ EasySearch, on the other hand, is specifically designed for auto parts and other product fitment applications. Its core strength lies in enabling customers to find products compatible with their specific vehicle (Year, Make, and Model) or other device characteristics. The key distinction lies in their functionality. Year Make Model ‑ EasySearch provides specialized features like a YMM search widget, a fitment widget on the product page, fitment tables, and 'My Garage' to store vehicle selections, features completely absent in Blog Filter & Search PRO. While Blog Filter & Search PRO could enhance blog search, it lacks the database and specialized UI elements required for product fitment. EasySearch offers a preloaded automotive database and the ability to add custom YMM records, making it ideal for any product requiring compatibility matching. Both apps, however, contribute to improved navigation and a better user experience on a Shopify store, albeit in fundamentally different ways.
