B&S ‑ Announcement Bar vs BS Flash Dealsfor Shopify (2026)
B&S ‑ Announcement Bar and BS Flash Deals both fall under the "Notifications - Other" category on Shopify, aiming to enhance customer engagement and boost sales. However, they achieve this through different mechanisms. B&S ‑ Announcement Bar focuses on customizable announcement banners offering static announcements, tickers, and scrolling messages. It targets merchants who want to prominently display important information like promotions, news, and discounts. In contrast, BS Flash Deals utilizes a sleek notification bell to highlight exciting, time-sensitive offers, appealing to merchants seeking to create a sense of urgency and drive immediate sales. The most significant difference lies in their approach to customer communication. Announcement Bar adopts a direct, banner-based approach, suitable for general announcements and constant visibility. Flash Deals, on the other hand, is more subtle, employing a notification bell to deliver targeted offers, aiming for engagement without being overly intrusive. While both offer scheduling capabilities, the Announcement Bar boasts a higher initial rating and some user reviews, suggesting it's a more established and trusted option currently. BS Flash Deals is untested, lacking any ratings or reviews as of 2026.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants seeking a tried-and-tested solution to display general announcements and promotions in a prominent and customizable banner format, B&S ‑ Announcement Bar is the better choice. The positive rating and user reviews provide a degree of confidence. Its features cater to those who value constant visibility and comprehensive control over the visual presentation of their messages.
Conversely, BS Flash Deals is a higher-risk, higher-reward option. While its notification bell approach could be effective for driving immediate sales through targeted promotions, the lack of reviews makes it difficult to assess its usability and effectiveness. It is best suited for merchants willing to experiment and prioritize a less intrusive, more targeted approach, provided they are comfortable being an early adopter.
