Census: Customer Surveys vs Confirmation IQfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, Shopify merchants seeking survey apps face a choice between Census: Customer Surveys and Confirmation IQ. Census: Customer Surveys boasts a perfect 5/5 rating based on 23 reviews, suggesting a strong track record of user satisfaction. Its strength lies in proven performance and reliability, likely appealing to merchants prioritizing a known quantity with positive feedback. Confirmation IQ, on the other hand, presents itself as a tool focused on post-purchase engagement, aiming to drive value by embedding surveys directly into the thank-you page. Its value proposition centers around customizable survey design, real-time analytics, and potentially offering post-checkout deals, targeting merchants interested in immediate feedback and sales opportunities. The major difference lies in their risk profiles and target use cases. Census offers established satisfaction while Confirmation IQ is a newcomer (or significantly changed app) lacking user validation. Confirmation IQ uniquely focuses on the post-purchase experience, offering a more targeted approach. However, the absence of reviews makes it difficult to assess its effectiveness and reliability. Both apps fall under the Surveys category, but Confirmation IQ emphasizes immediate, transaction-linked feedback and potential post-purchase offers, creating a point of distinction. The choice for a merchant will depend on their tolerance for risk versus potential reward, and whether they need surveys that are part of an initial sale confirmation process.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing a safe and proven option with existing positive feedback, Census: Customer Surveys is the clear choice. The 5/5 rating and 23 reviews suggest a reliable and effective solution. Merchants who value stability and user satisfaction should lean towards Census.
However, merchants willing to take a risk on a newer or significantly updated app and are specifically focused on optimizing the post-purchase experience might consider Confirmation IQ. Its focus on thank-you page surveys and potential post-purchase offers provides a unique advantage, but the lack of reviews makes it a less certain choice. Before committing, merchants should investigate the developers and potential beta user feedback for Confirmation IQ.
