Census: Customer Surveys vs FeedbackBuddy Purchase Surveysfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, choosing between Census: Customer Surveys and FeedbackBuddy Purchase Surveys for your Shopify store requires balancing established high ratings with potentially more focused feature sets. Census boasts a perfect 5/5 rating based on 23 reviews, indicating strong customer satisfaction. FeedbackBuddy, while having a slightly lower rating of 4.7/5 and only 2 reviews, explicitly positions itself around gathering post-purchase feedback to improve brand loyalty, suggesting a focus on a specific type of customer experience data. The limited information makes a definitive recommendation difficult, but it's clear the apps target overlapping needs. Census appears to be a general customer survey tool with strong satisfaction based on limited reviews, while FeedbackBuddy emphasizes purchase experience optimization. The key difference lies in the intended use-case: general feedback vs. targeted purchase journey improvement. The "Unlimited Questions & Responses" key feature in FeedbackBuddy also suggests it might scale better for larger stores or those needing very detailed feedback. Merchants considering these apps should prioritize their specific needs. Do they require broad customer insights, or are they focused on optimizing the purchase journey? The answer to this question will likely dictate the more suitable app.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a general-purpose customer survey tool with a strong initial positive reception, Census: Customer Surveys is a potentially good choice, although the small sample size should be noted. However, for stores specifically focused on enhancing the post-purchase experience and driving brand loyalty through detailed feedback, FeedbackBuddy Purchase Surveys seems more directly aligned, despite the limited number of reviews. New stores heavily focused on purchase funnel optimization might find FeedbackBuddy's specific features more valuable. Larger stores requiring unlimited question capabilities could also prefer FeedbackBuddy.
Ultimately, both apps require further investigation. Without more information, especially regarding pricing and actual feature implementation, this comparison remains speculative. Merchants should seek trials or demos to determine which app best fits their needs.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Based on the limited data, it's impossible to definitively say which app is easier to use. Census has a higher rating, which *might* suggest greater usability, but FeedbackBuddy's specific focus could also make it straightforward for its target audience. A trial or demo is needed to determine usability.
Which app is better for large stores?
FeedbackBuddy, with its 'Unlimited Questions & Responses' feature, seems better suited for large stores that require extensive and detailed customer feedback. Census provides no similar indication of scale.
Which app is more affordable?
Pricing information is not provided, so it's impossible to determine which app is more affordable. Merchants need to research the pricing plans for both apps.
Does either app integrate with other tools?
No integration information is provided for either app in the descriptions.
Which app is better for gathering feedback on product quality?
While either app could gather feedback on product quality, the descriptions suggest FeedbackBuddy is more focused on the purchase experience. Census, being a general survey tool, might be more adaptable for specifically targeting product quality feedback.
