Census: Customer Surveys vs Hidden Gems ‑ Pre&Post Surveysfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, Shopify merchants choosing between Census: Customer Surveys and Hidden Gems ‑ Pre&Post Surveys face a clear contrast. Census boasts a perfect 5/5 rating based on 23 reviews, suggesting established reliability and user satisfaction. It's positioned as a straightforward survey solution, likely with a focus on capturing customer feedback effectively. On the other hand, Hidden Gems, while lacking any reviews, emphasizes a more nuanced approach to survey implementation. It promotes a 'Question Flow' methodology designed to minimize disruption and enhance user experience by presenting questions at optimal moments, including before and after checkout, and even offers built-in Shopify discount code integration to incentivize participation. Hidden Gems' strength lies in its proactive approach to integrating surveys within the customer journey, potentially targeting merchants seeking to deeply understand customer motivations and pain points at specific touchpoints. Its pre- and post-checkout survey capabilities cater to those wanting immediate feedback. Census, given its positive rating and review count, likely appeals to merchants prioritizing a proven and reliable survey app with a track record of success, even if it lacks the sophisticated placement features of Hidden Gems. The lack of reviews for Hidden Gems creates a risk for merchants choosing this app, as there is no validation of claims of power, beauty, and ease of use.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a proven and reliable survey solution with a positive track record, Census: Customer Surveys is the safer bet. However, merchants who are particularly focused on optimizing the customer experience and capturing feedback at specific touchpoints within the shopping journey might find Hidden Gems ‑ Pre&Post Surveys a more compelling option, despite the lack of reviews. Its 'Question Flow' methodology and integration with Shopify discount codes could lead to higher survey completion rates and more actionable insights, but users should be wary of the risk of a new app with no reviews.
