Census: Customer Surveys vs LoudHippo Post Purchase Surveyfor Shopify (2026)
Both Census: Customer Surveys and LoudHippo Post Purchase Survey are highly-rated (5/5) survey apps for Shopify merchants, but they cater to different needs. Census: Customer Surveys aims to be a general customer survey tool, while LoudHippo Post Purchase Survey is specifically focused on post-purchase attribution analytics. LoudHippo's headline emphasizes its "How did you hear about us?" survey, indicating a focus on identifying the sources of customer acquisition. Its strength lies in its integrations with various marketing platforms and its ability to link survey results with order values. The primary difference is the scope. Census: Customer Surveys likely supports a wider range of survey types, not necessarily tied to post-purchase experiences. LoudHippo, on the other hand, provides a more specialized solution for merchants struggling with marketing attribution and needing granular data on customer origins. The number of reviews favors Census: Customer Surveys, indicating potentially broader usage and established market presence. However, the lower review count for LoudHippo doesn't necessarily indicate a worse product, just a more niche focus or more recent entry into the market. Both apps integrate with Shopify's Order Status & Thank You Page Checkout Extensions, suggesting comparable ease of integration with the store's checkout flow.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a broad solution for various survey types, Census: Customer Surveys is likely the better choice. Its higher review count suggests a more established presence and possibly wider adoption. However, if the primary goal is to improve marketing attribution and understand where customers are coming from, LoudHippo Post Purchase Survey is the clear winner. Its integration with marketing platforms and focus on post-purchase surveys make it a specialized tool for solving that specific problem.
Smaller merchants with a tighter budget might also gravitate towards LoudHippo initially, as its focused feature set may provide a quicker return on investment in terms of attribution data. Businesses heavily reliant on social media and influencer marketing, where attribution is notoriously difficult, will find LoudHippo particularly valuable.
