Census: Customer Surveys vs Primy ‑ AI Custom Form Builderfor Shopify (2026)
Both Census: Customer Surveys and Primy ‑ AI Custom Form Builder offer survey functionality, but their approach and scope differ significantly. Census, with a perfect 5/5 rating from 23 reviews, focuses solely on customer surveys, suggesting a targeted solution for gathering direct customer feedback. Primy, also boasting a 5/5 rating but from a smaller pool of 6 reviews, positions itself as a comprehensive AI-powered form builder capable of creating various form types, including but not limited to surveys. Primy's strength lies in its versatility, offering AI-powered assistance, file upload capabilities, multi-step and multi-language support, and integrations with popular marketing and data tools like Google Sheets, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, and Zapier. It's aimed at merchants who need a flexible solution to create diverse forms for various purposes, from contact forms to wholesale order forms. Census, on the other hand, might appeal to merchants specifically seeking a streamlined solution dedicated solely to customer surveys. The higher number of reviews for Census suggests a broader user base and potentially more established reputation within the customer survey niche, despite Primy’s more advanced feature set. Primy leverages AI for efficiency which might be more attractive to merchants with complex form needs or those seeking to automate form creation.

Our Verdict
For merchants exclusively focused on customer feedback collection and seeking a simple, dedicated survey tool, Census: Customer Surveys is likely the better choice. Its higher review count suggests a more established product within that specific niche. However, for merchants requiring a versatile form builder to handle various data collection needs beyond just surveys, and who value AI-powered assistance and integrations with other marketing and data platforms, Primy ‑ AI Custom Form Builder is the more comprehensive and powerful option. It's a good choice for growing businesses that anticipate needing more than just basic survey functionalities.
