COD King‑COD Fees & OTP Verify vs TORO Sales Notificationsfor Shopify (2026)
COD King - COD Fees & OTP Verify and TORO Sales Notifications are both 5-star rated Shopify apps in the 'Notifications - Other' category, but they address drastically different needs. COD King focuses on reducing losses associated with Cash on Delivery (COD) orders, tackling issues like Return to Origin (RTO), fake orders, and unserious buyers. It achieves this through OTP verification, upfront/partial payments, COD fees, and conditional COD visibility. TORO Sales Notifications, on the other hand, aims to boost checkout rates by leveraging FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) through customizable sales popups that showcase offers, discounts, and best-selling products. The primary difference lies in their target audience and problem domains. COD King is designed for merchants, particularly those in India and Egypt (explicitly mentioned), struggling with the inefficiencies and costs associated with COD fulfillment. TORO is more broadly aimed at any e-commerce store seeking to improve conversion rates by creating a sense of urgency and highlighting attractive deals. While both apps ultimately aim to increase sales, COD King does so by reducing losses and filtering out undesirable orders, whereas TORO focuses on driving immediate purchases through persuasive marketing tactics.

Our Verdict
COD King is a clear winner for merchants in regions where COD is prevalent and poses significant challenges. The large number of reviews suggests it effectively addresses the pain points associated with COD orders. TORO Sales Notifications, while also rated highly, has significantly fewer reviews, making it harder to assess its overall impact and reliability.
For merchants not heavily reliant on COD, or those who haven't experienced significant losses due to fraudulent or unserious COD orders, TORO Sales Notifications could be a worthwhile addition for boosting conversions through FOMO marketing. However, given the limited data, it would be prudent to thoroughly research and test its effectiveness. Ultimately, the choice depends on the specific challenges and goals of the Shopify store.
