Dataships Checkout Opt‑in vs Kindly: Payment Reminder Profor Shopify (2026)
Dataships Checkout Opt-in and Kindly: Payment Reminder Pro both boast perfect 5/5 ratings on the Shopify App Store as of 2026. However, they address fundamentally different aspects of e-commerce. Dataships focuses on acquisition by optimizing the checkout process for email and SMS marketing opt-ins, ensuring compliance with regional privacy regulations. Its strength lies in expanding marketing reach by converting shoppers into subscribers. Kindly, while sharing the SMS marketing category, tackles the issue of payment recovery. The primary distinction lies in their target function: Dataships aims to grow your subscriber list and thus expand your reach for marketing campaigns, whereas Kindly focuses on recovering potentially lost revenue from abandoned carts or failed payments through payment reminders. Dataships emphasizes compliance and dynamic consent, suggesting a more complex technical implementation and a potentially higher learning curve. Kindly isn't described in as much detail, but its function seems more straightforward and aimed towards direct revenue impact.
