Dataships Checkout Opt‑in vs Notify Customersfor Shopify (2026)
Dataships Checkout Opt‑in and Notify Customers both aim to improve customer engagement and revenue through SMS marketing, but they target different stages of the customer journey. Dataships focuses on acquiring new email and SMS subscribers directly at checkout by optimizing consent and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Its strength lies in its dynamic consent management and seamless integration with Klaviyo. This makes it well-suited for merchants prioritizing building their subscriber base and adhering to global privacy laws from the very beginning. Notify Customers, on the other hand, centers on re-engaging existing customers through SMS marketing campaigns. It provides tools for sending promotional offers, updates, and gathering feedback via text messages. Its key strengths are its ease of use, image support, and ability to facilitate 1-on-1 conversations. Notify Customers is better suited for merchants who already have a customer list and want a straightforward solution for sending targeted SMS campaigns to drive repeat business and improve customer communication. The rating for both apps is 5/5, but Dataships has significantly more reviews, suggesting broader adoption and potentially more established performance.
