DateWise ‑ Scheduled messaging vs Piko ‑ Pickup Reminderfor Shopify (2026)
DateWise ‑ Scheduled messaging and Piko ‑ Pickup Reminder, while both falling under the 'Notifications - Other' Shopify category, cater to very different merchant needs. DateWise focuses on proactive communication regarding store closures and potential shipping delays, aiming to manage customer expectations and prevent frustration. It targets merchants who frequently experience disruptions due to holidays, inventory checks, or other planned/unplanned closures. Piko, on the other hand, addresses the problem of uncollected pickup orders. It's aimed at merchants offering local pickup as a fulfillment method, helping them automate reminders, free up storage space, and improve customer satisfaction by ensuring timely order collection. The core difference lies in the type of notification: DateWise informs customers about potential delays *before* orders are placed, while Piko reminds customers about orders *already awaiting* pickup. DateWise emphasizes store-wide communication through banners and checkout messages, whereas Piko uses direct email and WhatsApp notifications. The apps also differ significantly in complexity. While both claim simple setups, DateWise involves configuring closure schedules and message templates across various store locations, while Piko centers on setting pickup reminder timings and crafting personalized reminder content.

Our Verdict
For merchants struggling with uncollected pickup orders, Piko ‑ Pickup Reminder is the clear choice. Its automated reminders address a specific pain point, freeing up storage and improving customer communication directly related to fulfillment. The WhatsApp integration is a strong feature. DateWise ‑ Scheduled messaging is ideal for merchants who frequently experience disruptions due to holidays, inventory, or other planned closures. If consistently managing customer expectations around shipping times is a priority, then DateWise will be very helpful.
While both apps are highly rated, the limited number of reviews for both apps suggests caution. Merchants should carefully evaluate their specific needs and consider initiating free trials (if available) to determine which app better fits their workflow before committing to a subscription.
Common Questions
Which app is better for reducing negative customer feedback?
It depends on the source of the negative feedback. If customers are complaining about unexpected shipping delays, DateWise is more likely to help. If complaints center around missed pickups or lack of communication about pickup readiness, Piko is the better option.
Is one app easier to set up than the other?
Both apps claim to have simple, no-code setups. However, DateWise might require more initial configuration to set up closure schedules and customize messages for different scenarios. Piko's setup likely involves configuring reminder schedules and customizing the content of email/WhatsApp messages, which may be quicker to get started.
Which app is more valuable for a store with high order volume?
Piko could offer significant value for high-volume stores offering pickup, as the time and space saved by automating pickup reminders could be substantial. DateWise would also be valuable by proactively notifying customers. Consider the balance between the number of pickups versus number of orders and the number of store closure days per year.
Which app offers more comprehensive notification options?
DateWise allows for broader notifications across the store, including banners, checkout messages, and order pages. Piko focuses specifically on direct communication (email and WhatsApp) related to pickup orders.
Are these apps compatible with each other?
There's no inherent incompatibility. It's possible to use both apps concurrently if a store offers local pickup *and* experiences frequent closures or shipping delays. However, it is important to avoid redundancy in communication.
