Essential Free Shipping Upsell vs LayoutHub ‑ Easy Page Builderfor Shopify (2026)
Essential Free Shipping Upsell and LayoutHub ‑ Easy Page Builder, while both falling under the 'Upsell and cross-sell' category, cater to very different needs for Shopify merchants in 2026. Essential Free Shipping Upsell focuses on increasing Average Order Value (AOV) by incentivizing customers to spend more to qualify for free shipping, leveraging a progress bar and integrated cart upsells. It's targeted at merchants looking for a quick and easy way to boost sales without extensive design or development work. LayoutHub, on the other hand, is a page builder designed to simplify the creation of professional-looking pages. It offers a library of pre-designed layouts and an easy-to-use editor. It aims to help merchants, especially those without design expertise, quickly create high-converting storefronts. While it might indirectly contribute to higher AOV, its primary focus is on overall store design and user experience, not specifically on free shipping upsells.

Our Verdict
If a merchant's primary goal is to quickly increase AOV and reduce cart abandonment through strategic free shipping incentives and cart upsells, Essential Free Shipping Upsell is the clear choice. Its features are laser-focused on this specific objective, and its ease of use makes it accessible to merchants of all technical skill levels.
However, if a merchant is struggling with the overall design and layout of their store, especially if they lack design expertise, LayoutHub offers a more comprehensive solution. Its pre-designed layouts and easy-to-use editor allow merchants to quickly create a professional-looking storefront, potentially boosting conversion rates in the long run. It's a better investment for improving the overall shopper experience, even if it doesn't directly address free shipping upsells.
