Essential Free Shipping Upsell vs Upsell & Cross Sell by SSCfor Shopify (2026)
Essential Free Shipping Upsell and Upsell & Cross Sell by SSC both aim to increase Average Order Value (AOV) and sales through upselling and cross-selling techniques, but they approach it from different angles. Essential Free Shipping Upsell focuses heavily on leveraging the free shipping incentive with a progress bar to encourage customers to add more items to their cart. It positions itself as a tool to 'stop giving away Free Shipping' by strategically using it to boost spending. It offers customization options for the progress bar and integrates cart upsells and cross-sells. Upsell & Cross Sell by SSC takes a broader approach, offering a more comprehensive suite of upsell and cross-sell features across multiple touchpoints in the customer journey, including product pages, cart, checkout, and even post-purchase. It emphasizes AI-powered product recommendations and bundles. The key difference lies in the breadth of locations and the use of AI, contrasting with Essential Free Shipping Upsell's focus on free shipping thresholds. Both apps target Shopify merchants looking to increase revenue, but the scale and scope of their features differ significantly.
