Gorgias: Helpdesk, Chat & FAQ vs Whatsapp Marketing & Supportfor Shopify (2026)
Gorgias: Helpdesk, Chat & FAQ and Whatsapp Marketing & Support both operate in the customer support and engagement space on Shopify. However, their approaches and target audiences differ significantly. Gorgias, with its higher number of reviews (544), is a more established helpdesk solution focused on consolidating support channels and providing a comprehensive customer service platform. It likely caters to a broader range of e-commerce businesses seeking to manage a high volume of support tickets across various channels. Whatsapp Marketing & Support, boasting a perfect 5/5 rating (albeit with fewer reviews at 84), positions itself as an AI-powered commerce and support solution heavily emphasizing WhatsApp, Instagram, and email for acquisition and retention. This app is geared towards D2C brands looking to leverage conversational commerce and automation, particularly on WhatsApp, to drive sales and reduce Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC). Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a robust, all-encompassing helpdesk solution to manage a high volume of customer inquiries across multiple channels, Gorgias likely provides a more comprehensive feature set and established support system. However, for D2C brands primarily focused on engaging customers through WhatsApp, Instagram, and email, and leveraging AI to automate sales-related support and marketing, Whatsapp Marketing & Support offers a compelling and targeted solution. Its focus on conversational commerce and automated engagement could lead to significant improvements in conversion rates and customer lifetime value.
If a merchant is heavily invested in WhatsApp and wants a tool specifically designed to boost sales via that platform, Whatsapp Marketing & Support is the better choice, especially given its higher rating. However, merchants needing support across many channels and with complex customer service needs would be better served by Gorgias.
