Kustomer vs Whatsapp Marketing & Supportfor Shopify (2026)
Kustomer and Whatsapp Marketing & Support are both highly-rated Shopify apps (5/5) in the Chat category. However, they cater to different needs and offer distinct functionalities. Kustomer positions itself as an AI-powered CRM focused on streamlining customer support through deep Shopify data integration. It emphasizes providing a holistic view of the customer, enabling personalized experiences and efficient order management directly within the Kustomer platform. Its strength lies in centralizing support operations and offering functionalities like direct order refunds and chatbot templates. Kustomer seems targeted towards larger e-commerce and retail businesses with complex support needs. Whatsapp Marketing & Support, on the other hand, focuses on leveraging WhatsApp, Instagram, and email for commerce and support. Its strength lies in its multi-channel capabilities, AI-powered automation for sales and engagement, and features like cart recovery and automated order updates. The app positions itself as a tool to acquire new users, reduce customer acquisition costs (CAC), and improve conversions and retention. It's likely more appealing to D2C brands seeking to engage customers across various messaging platforms and automate marketing efforts. Although both offer support features, Whatsapp Marketing & Support places a greater emphasis on marketing automation and sales-driving capabilities.
