My Stories vs Zotabox Social Sharing Buttonsfor Shopify (2026)
My Stories and Zotabox Social Sharing Buttons, while both categorized under "Social proof" on Shopify, cater to vastly different needs and strategies. My Stories focuses on leveraging short-form video content, mimicking the popular 'Story' format from platforms like Instagram and TikTok, to directly engage customers on product pages, collections, and the homepage. It promises increased engagement and conversions through compelling video demonstrations and customizable branding. Zotabox, on the other hand, concentrates on expanding a merchant's social media reach and leveraging social proof through share, follow, and messaging buttons across 45+ social platforms. Zotabox emphasizes easy integration and customization with no coding required, targeting merchants who want to amplify their existing social media presence and drive traffic back to their Shopify store. It offers detailed tracking of social interactions and direct integration with chat apps. While My Stories aims to convert visitors through engaging product visuals within the store itself, Zotabox aims to expand brand awareness and gather social validation by driving traffic to external social platforms and facilitating communication.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing visual product demonstrations and direct on-site engagement, My Stories is the better choice. It allows customers to experience products through engaging short-form video, leading to potentially higher conversion rates. However, the relatively low number of reviews compared to Zotabox should be considered. On the other hand, if a merchant is actively building their social media presence and wants to leverage social proof to drive external traffic and brand awareness, Zotabox Social Sharing Buttons is the more suitable app. Its larger user base (indicated by the significantly higher number of reviews) and focus on expanding social reach make it a strong contender for merchants prioritizing social media marketing.
Common Questions
Does My Stories integrate with social media platforms?
The provided information doesn't explicitly state social media integrations beyond the Story format being similar to Instagram and TikTok. It focuses on embedding videos directly on the Shopify store.
Can Zotabox help me create content for social media?
Zotabox focuses on sharing existing content and driving traffic to your social media profiles, not creating content itself. Its purpose is amplification, not content creation.
Which app is easier to set up for a non-technical user?
Zotabox explicitly states "no coding needed" and highlights "Live chat support (non-AI)", suggesting it is geared towards ease of use for non-technical users. My Stories' ease of use is less explicitly stated but implied through its design for quick video uploading and customization.
Which app is better for improving SEO?
My Stories claims to have 'zero impact on SEO' while also providing engaging product content that can keep users on site longer, which can indirectly improve SEO. Zotabox's 'mobile-responsive, fast-loading' design should not hurt SEO, and generating more social sharing may increase brand visibility. However, neither directly focuses on SEO improvement.
If I already have a large social media following, which app is best?
If you have a large social media following, Zotabox would likely be more beneficial as it can help you leverage that following to drive more traffic to your store and increase social engagement. My Stories is still relevant for showcasing your products, but it doesn't directly leverage an existing social following.
