Notify Customers vs SMSGo: Abandoned Cart Recoveryfor Shopify (2026)
Both Notify Customers and SMSGo: Abandoned Cart Recovery are SMS marketing apps for Shopify, but they cater to different needs. Notify Customers focuses on broad SMS campaign functionality, allowing merchants to promote sales, gather reviews, and share updates via text. Its strength lies in its simplicity and ease of use for general SMS marketing campaigns. SMSGo: Abandoned Cart Recovery, on the other hand, is a more specialized app centered around abandoned cart recovery and post-purchase upsells. It boasts features like automated SMS sequences, targeted customer segmentation, and custom sender IDs. SMSGo targets merchants seeking to actively recover lost sales and build more complex SMS marketing flows, including targeted customer segments and abandoned cart discounts. While Notify Customers is a generalist tool, SMSGo specializes in driving conversions through automated, highly targeted SMS campaigns and offering a robust feature set for abandoned cart recapture. This distinction impacts their ideal user profiles and the complexity of the campaigns they support. Both offer 1:1 customer communication, but SMSGo highlights customer winback and coupon codes more prominently, suggesting a greater focus on retention.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing simple, general SMS marketing campaigns (e.g., promoting sales or sharing updates), Notify Customers might be sufficient due to its seemingly straightforward interface. However, the relatively low number of reviews should be considered. SMSGo: Abandoned Cart Recovery is a more powerful tool for merchants specifically focused on recovering abandoned carts and creating sophisticated SMS marketing flows. Its automated features and targeted segmentation make it ideal for driving conversions and increasing revenue.
Ultimately, SMSGo appears more feature-rich and geared towards merchants ready to invest in a robust SMS marketing strategy focused on cart recovery and customer retention. Its slightly lower rating is offset by a higher number of reviews, potentially making it a more reliable choice for many Shopify stores.
