Piko ‑ Pickup Reminder vs SMS Notify ‑SMS Gateway Centerfor Shopify (2026)
Piko ‑ Pickup Reminder and SMS Notify ‑SMS Gateway Center are both Shopify apps in the 'Notifications - Other' category, but cater to different needs. Piko focuses solely on optimizing local pickup order management, automating reminders via email and WhatsApp to reduce uncollected orders and improve customer satisfaction. Its target audience is merchants offering in-store or curbside pickup who struggle with managing and reminding customers about their orders. SMS Notify, on the other hand, provides a broader SMS gateway for various store communications, including order updates, shipment notifications, and promotional messages. This app positions itself as a comprehensive SMS solution for order fulfillment and customer engagement. The primary difference lies in their scope. Piko is highly specialized, focusing on a single, well-defined problem: pickup order management. This allows it to offer tailored features like customizable pickup reminder schedules and the ability to mark orders as picked up manually. SMS Notify offers a more general SMS communication platform, suitable for a wider range of use cases beyond just pickup reminders. It provides features like smart link generation and Google verified SMS badge, focusing on broader communication needs.

Our Verdict
If your primary concern is efficiently managing pickup orders and reducing clutter from uncollected items, Piko ‑ Pickup Reminder is the clear choice. Its specialized features and no-code setup make it a user-friendly solution for businesses offering in-store pickup. If you need a more versatile SMS communication platform for various store operations, including order updates, shipment notifications, and marketing, SMS Notify ‑SMS Gateway Center is better suited. Its broader feature set caters to businesses with diverse communication needs. However, weigh its slightly lower rating and the potential complexity of setup against your specific requirements.
While Piko has a perfect rating, the very small number of reviews suggests taking it with a grain of salt. The higher number of reviews for SMS Notify, even with a slightly lower rating, offers more confidence in its general functionality. Ultimately, the decision depends on whether you need a niche solution for pickup management or a comprehensive SMS gateway.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Piko ‑ Pickup Reminder claims a 'Simple, No-Code Setup,' suggesting it is easier to set up than SMS Notify ‑SMS Gateway Center, although setup complexity for the latter is not explicitly mentioned.
Which app is more cost-effective?
The provided information doesn't mention pricing for either app. A cost comparison would require examining their respective pricing plans.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Potentially, yes. Piko focuses on pickup reminders, while SMS Notify covers broader SMS communication. However, consider potential overlap and redundancy in notifications, especially if Piko begins sending SMS messages through a third party, and whether that is desirable for the customer experience.
Which app is better for improving customer satisfaction?
Both apps can improve customer satisfaction in different ways. Piko ensures customers don't forget their pickup orders, preventing disappointment. SMS Notify keeps customers informed about their orders, shipments, and other relevant information, fostering trust and transparency.
Which app is better for larger Shopify stores?
SMS Notify ‑SMS Gateway Center is likely a better fit for larger stores, as its broad communication platform can scale to handle a higher volume of orders and customer interactions. While Piko can still be useful, its sole focus on pickup reminders might be less impactful for stores with a small percentage of pickup orders.
