Prefixbox AI Search Bar Filter vs Product Pickedfor Shopify (2026)
Prefixbox AI Search Bar Filter and Product Picked are both Shopify apps in the Search and Navigation category, but they address different aspects of the customer journey. Prefixbox focuses on enhancing the search and product discovery experience on collection pages and search bars, offering features like predictive search, dynamic filters, and AI-powered search. It positions itself as a conversion booster, leveraging AI to improve search results and providing merchandising tools for control over product promotion. Importantly, it is designed specifically for Shopify Plus merchants, indicating a more robust and potentially complex implementation. Product Picked, on the other hand, acts as a digital assistant, guiding shoppers to the right products through AI-powered quizzes and personalized recommendations. Instead of improving search bar results, Product Picked educates shoppers about products and assists them in understanding their needs. It aims to address shoppers overwhelmed by options or unfamiliar with the product category. The description emphasizes easy setup and theme integration, suggesting it's targeted towards a broader range of merchants looking for a simple, customer-centric solution. Its zero ratings and reviews, however, raise concerns about its reliability and functionality.

Our Verdict
For Shopify Plus merchants seeking to optimize their search functionality, improve product discovery, and leverage AI to boost conversions on search and collection pages, Prefixbox AI Search Bar Filter is the clearly superior choice. The app's integration within the Shopify Theme Editor and powerful features like merchandising overrides offer a high degree of control and customization. However, its Shopify Plus focus suggests a more complex implementation process.
Product Picked, while promising, lacks any user validation and is therefore difficult to recommend at this time. In theory, if a merchant needs a solution to help educate customers and guide them through the purchasing process, especially if their catalog is complex or their customers are new to the niche, Product Picked might be suitable *if* it had positive reviews and a proven track record. Until then, caution is advised.
