Our Verdict
Prefixbox AI Search Bar Filter is the clear choice for Shopify Plus merchants seeking a comprehensive solution to enhance search functionality, product discovery, and conversion rates through AI-powered search, dynamic filters, and advanced merchandising capabilities. Its tight integration with the Shopify Theme Editor offers significant customization options. However, the high cost and Shopify Plus exclusivity make it unsuitable for smaller businesses.
Scrollify ‑ Infinite Scroll is an excellent option for all Shopify merchants looking to improve the browsing experience on their collection pages. Its ease of use, focus on infinite scroll, and customizable 'Load More' button provide a simple yet effective way to reduce friction and encourage product discovery. It's a particularly good fit for stores with a large product catalog.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Scrollify is likely easier to set up due to its simpler feature set. Prefixbox, with its AI-powered search and merchandising capabilities, likely requires more configuration and data input to optimize performance.
Which app is better for a store with a small product catalog?
Scrollify might still be beneficial, but its impact would be less significant compared to a store with a large catalog. Prefixbox's AI search might be overkill for a smaller selection.
Which app focuses more on SEO?
While both apps can indirectly impact SEO, Scrollify explicitly mentions SEO optimization as a benefit. Prefixbox's focus is primarily on search functionality and conversion optimization, though improved search experience generally benefits SEO.
Does Prefixbox work with themes other than the standard Shopify theme?
The description indicates Prefixbox customizes product tiles within the Shopify Theme Editor, implying compatibility with themes that support Shopify Theme Editor customizations. However, merchants should verify compatibility with their specific theme.
Can I use both apps together?
Yes, you can technically use both apps. Scrollify enhances browsing on collection pages, while Prefixbox improves search and filtering. However, it's important to ensure that the apps don't conflict with each other in terms of page load speed or user experience. Thorough testing is recommended.
