Prefixbox AI Search Bar Filter vs Sellto: AI Sales Chatfor Shopify (2026)
Prefixbox AI Search Bar Filter and Sellto: AI Sales Chat are Shopify apps competing in the 'Search and Navigation' and 'Search and Filters' categories, but address different aspects of the customer journey. Prefixbox focuses on enhancing the on-site search experience, product discovery, and filtering capabilities for Shopify Plus merchants. Its strength lies in providing a robust AI-powered search engine with customizable product tiles and merchandising control. Sellto, on the other hand, positions itself as an AI sales chat solution designed to convert visitors into customers through instant product recommendations and 24/7 customer support. Sellto's core value proposition centers on proactive customer engagement and faster checkout, while Prefixbox emphasizes improving product findability and conversion through search optimization. A key difference is their target audience: Prefixbox explicitly supports Shopify Plus and Markets merchants, suggesting a focus on larger, more complex e-commerce operations. Sellto's description implies a broader appeal, targeting any store looking to improve conversion rates with AI-driven customer interactions. Currently, Prefixbox has positive reviews, while Sellto has no reviews, making it a riskier choice.

Our Verdict
Prefixbox AI Search Bar Filter is the stronger choice for Shopify Plus merchants seeking to significantly improve their on-site search experience, product discovery, and conversion rates through a highly customizable and AI-driven search engine. The positive reviews (5/5, 41 reviews) provide social proof and indicate a well-received product. Sellto: AI Sales Chat, while promising, is a riskier proposition due to the lack of reviews. Its focus on AI sales chat and instant recommendations might appeal to merchants looking for proactive customer engagement and faster checkout processes. However, the absence of user feedback makes it difficult to assess its effectiveness or reliability. A smaller store might be tempted by Sellto if they need constant sales chat support, but should proceed with caution.
Common Questions
What type of store benefits most from Prefixbox AI Search Bar Filter?
Shopify Plus and Markets merchants with a large product catalog and complex filtering needs will benefit the most. The customization options and merchandising controls are valuable for large-scale e-commerce operations.
What type of store benefits most from Sellto: AI Sales Chat?
Stores looking for 24/7 customer support and immediate sales assistance, especially those with limited customer service resources, might find Sellto beneficial, assuming its AI is effective. However, due to the lack of reviews, it is hard to determine whether or not it is effective.
Does Prefixbox AI Search Bar Filter offer 24/7 customer support?
The app description does not explicitly mention 24/7 customer support. You should contact Prefixbox directly for information about their support hours and response times.
How easy is it to install and set up Sellto: AI Sales Chat?
Sellto claims to offer a 'One-click install' and 'auto-syncs your store’s inventory instantly,' suggesting a very simple setup process. However, given the lack of reviews, this is not validated by users.
Which app is better for a small Shopify store with a limited budget?
Due to the lack of reviews, it's difficult to recommend Sellto at this time. Small stores should consider the features they need most (improved search vs. sales chat) and potentially look for alternatives to Sellto with existing user feedback, since Prefixbox targets plus merchants.
