Our Verdict
For Shopify Plus merchants seeking granular control over their search and filtering experience, including the ability to merchandise and customize deeply within the theme editor, Prefixbox AI Search Bar Filter is likely the better choice. Its support for metaobjects, metafields, and product options adds another layer of control. However, merchants prioritizing a hands-off AI sales assistant capable of engaging customers in natural language throughout the entire buying journey should lean towards Trieve: AI Sales Associate. While Trieve currently has significantly fewer reviews, its emphasis on personalized product discovery and automated question resolution could be invaluable for smaller teams or those looking to reduce customer support workload. The choice ultimately depends on the level of control desired versus the desire for a fully AI-powered, conversational experience.
