Sherpas: Smart SEO vs Tiny SEO Speed Image Optimizerfor Shopify (2026)
Both Sherpas: Smart SEO and Tiny SEO Speed Image Optimizer are highly-rated (5/5) Shopify apps designed to improve SEO, drive organic traffic, and boost sales. However, they cater to slightly different user needs. Sherpas: Smart SEO, with 842 reviews, positions itself as a solution that makes complex SEO tasks easy, automating mundane aspects while providing AI-powered features like meta tag and alt tag generation using ChatGPT-4 Turbo. Its focus seems more on providing AI assistance and a detailed backlink report. Tiny SEO Speed Image Optimizer, boasting significantly more reviews (1741), emphasizes its all-in-one nature, targeting SEO, image optimization, and page speed simultaneously. It highlights its image-centric capabilities with features like one-click image optimization, resizing, and compression, coupled with general SEO tools like JSON-LD, sitemaps, and broken link detection. The inclusion of Index Now for Bing suggests a broader search engine optimization scope. TinySEO also leans heavily into page speed with Javascript and CSS minification and lazy loading. While both apps offer overlapping features, Tiny SEO Speed Image Optimizer positions itself as a more comprehensive solution for merchants needing combined SEO, image, and speed optimization, whereas Sherpas: Smart SEO could be more appealing to those seeking AI-powered content generation and specialized backlink analysis.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with improving page speed and optimizing images alongside general SEO, Tiny SEO Speed Image Optimizer appears to be the more comprehensive choice due to its combined focus and higher number of reviews. Its image-specific tools and speed optimization features offer a well-rounded solution. It offers more tools bundled in one app.
However, if a merchant is specifically looking for strong AI-powered content generation (meta tags, alt tags via ChatGPT-4 Turbo) and in-depth backlink analysis tools, Sherpas: Smart SEO might be a better fit. It is a more specialized tool focusing on AI and backlinks, and could work well if the merchant already has image optimization covered.
