WhatsApp & Helpdesk ‑ MyAlice vs Whatsapp Marketing & Supportfor Shopify (2026)
WhatsApp & Helpdesk - MyAlice and Whatsapp Marketing & Support are both Shopify apps designed to leverage WhatsApp for customer engagement and sales, but they differ significantly in their approach and target audience. MyAlice positions itself as a sales-focused customer service platform that helps growing eCommerce merchants convert and retain customers across various messaging channels, highlighting easy migration from competitors. Whatsapp Marketing & Support by BusinessOnBot, on the other hand, emphasizes AI-powered automation for acquiring new users and reducing customer acquisition cost (CAC) across multiple channels, including WhatsApp, Instagram, and Email, appealing to D2C brands seeking efficiency gains through automation. MyAlice boasts a simpler feature set focused on multi-channel support and order management, while BusinessOnBot offers more advanced AI-driven capabilities for commerce and marketing. The key difference lies in their focus: MyAlice prioritizes comprehensive customer support and direct sales conversations, whereas BusinessOnBot emphasizes automation and AI-driven functionalities like cart recovery and order updates. While both offer features like abandoned cart recovery and order notifications via WhatsApp, BusinessOnBot leans heavily on AI to optimize these processes and provide a more hands-off approach for merchants. MyAlice appeals to merchants seeking more direct control and a wider range of messaging channel support, while BusinessOnBot is better suited for D2C brands looking for scalable, AI-powered automation to enhance sales and customer experience.

Our Verdict
For growing eCommerce merchants prioritizing hands-on customer service and management across multiple messaging channels, WhatsApp & Helpdesk - MyAlice is a suitable choice. Its ability to view and edit Shopify orders directly from the customer view and its easy migration from other helpdesk platforms can be beneficial. However, the low number of reviews compared to its competitor is a risk to consider.
For D2C brands seeking a more automated approach to WhatsApp marketing and support, Whatsapp Marketing & Support is the better option. The AI-powered automation features, such as cart recovery, upsells, and order updates, can significantly reduce workload and improve conversion rates. The unified inbox is also a strong selling point for brands managing customer interactions across multiple platforms. While the initial setup may be more complex, the long-term benefits of AI-driven optimization make it a worthwhile investment.
Common Questions
Which app is better for handling a high volume of customer inquiries?
Whatsapp Marketing & Support likely handles a higher volume of inquiries more efficiently due to its AI-powered bot that can answer frequently asked questions and automate order updates. MyAlice might require more agent intervention for the same volume.
Which app is easier to integrate with existing systems?
MyAlice explicitly mentions easy migration from other platforms like Gorgias and Zendesk, suggesting a simpler integration process if you're already using a helpdesk system. Whatsapp Marketing & Support's integration process may depend on the complexity of its AI features.
Which app is more affordable?
Without pricing information, it's impossible to determine which app is more affordable. However, it's likely that MyAlice offers a more basic plan suitable for smaller businesses, while Whatsapp Marketing & Support might have higher-priced tiers with more advanced AI functionalities.
Which app is better for proactively engaging customers with personalized offers?
Whatsapp Marketing & Support excels at proactive engagement due to its AI-driven campaign automation for cart recovery, upsells, and other personalized offers. MyAlice's personalized broadcast campaigns offer a similar functionality, but without the same level of AI-powered targeting and optimization.
Does either app offer analytics and reporting?
Neither app description explicitly mentions analytics and reporting, but it's highly probable that both offer some form of analytics to track campaign performance and customer engagement. More research into each app's documentation would be required to confirm this.
