Our Verdict
The choice between Blog Filter & Search PRO and C: Year Make Model Search is highly dependent on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant's primary goal is to improve the searchability and filtering capabilities of their Shopify blog, Blog Filter & Search PRO is likely the more suitable option, assuming it offers robust features for blog content. However, if a merchant sells parts or components where fitment is crucial (e.g., automotive parts, electronics accessories), C: Year Make Model Search is the clear winner. Its specialized YMM functionality, combined with features like bulk assignment and order integration, provide a comprehensive solution for managing and presenting product compatibility information. Without explicit feature details for Blog Filter & Search PRO, C: Year Make Model Search is the safer recommendation for merchants operating in the parts/components niche.
Common Questions
What type of business benefits most from Blog Filter & Search PRO?
Businesses that rely heavily on content marketing through their Shopify blog will benefit most. If the app provides robust search and filtering options, it could improve user engagement and content discoverability.
Is C: Year Make Model Search only for automotive parts?
No, the app description explicitly mentions support for various product categories including Vehicle, Bike, Cars, Boats, Printer, Cartridges, Parts, Audio Systems, Air Conditioning and Electronics parts finder along with Tires and Wheels.
Can I use both apps on the same store?
Potentially, but it's likely unnecessary. Blog Filter & Search PRO focuses on blog content, while C: Year Make Model Search focuses on product fitment. Overlap is minimal unless you sell parts *through* your blog, which is unusual.
What is 'Bulk YMM' in C: Year Make Model Search?
'Bulk YMM' refers to the ability to assign multiple Year/Make/Model compatibility rows to multiple products simultaneously. This is crucial for managing large product catalogs with complex fitment data.
How important is the rating difference between the two apps?
The rating difference is minor (4.9 vs 4.6). While 4.9 is better, the higher review count of C: Year Make Model Search suggests it's more widely used in its specific niche. Feature fit is more important than a slight rating difference.
